Well, it is official- The Fly Away American is one year young. This year has been an incredible journey, and this blog has turned into so much more than I could have ever anticipated. What started as a way to share my life in England and all of the fascinating places I am so lucky to visit, has transformed into a passion that has brought such joy to my life.

Who knew a blog could be a catalyst for change?

I feel very lucky, not just because of the awesome experiences I have had, but because of the amazing friends I have made. Through blogging events and the blog itself, Β I have been privileged to meet wonderful individuals from all over the world, who share my love of travel and zest for life.

When I published my very first post, I was unsure of what direction this blog would take. Within a couple of weeks I became much more focused, and began envisioning what this space would be. I am so Β proud of how far it has come and look forward to watching it evolve and grow even more in the years to follow.

Over the past year, it was you guys who kept me writing and exploring and sharing. Why you came to read the ramblings of little ole me I will never know, but you have made all of this worthwhile. So, thank you. Really, truly. I love writing this blog, but I love that you come to read and comment and share in my life even more.

To celebrate my one year blogging anniversary, I have a few goodies to giveaway as a thank you for being here this past year. I hope that you continue to take the time to stop by, you guys seriously rock my world.

I have partnered with BeanBean, a super cool shop on Etsy who makes custom phone covers and adorable travel goodies. I love their designs and they are reasonably priced as well.

BeanBean has offered to giveaway a monogrammed passport cover and luggage tag to one lucky reader in celebration of the big 1.

Here are mine- how cute are they?

I am also giving away this adorable travel journal to the winner, a place for you to record your own travel adventures. It is pocket sized and unlined, so perfect for throwing in your purse or carry-on. I fell in love with the destination typography and knew I had to share this baby with all of you! The notebook was handmade in the UK from recycled materials, making it a little extra special.
