Happy Monday everyone! Less than ten days until Christmas, and I am pumped. Santa Amazon has been trickling in his deliveries, filling up the empty space under our compact English Christmas tree. I can’t wait to see the Kid on Christmas morning, I have a feeling her smile will be as big as mine. (I’m the biggest kid of them all.)

Today I have been thinking about this blog and the incredible evolution it has experienced since I began last April. Less than a year into this project and I have met such incredible people, visited amazing places, and become an overall more confident and happy person. I have truly found my calling not just through this blog, but in my writing- which has transformed into a career with a future that I am very excited about. When I put up my first post I had no idea what direction this blog would go, I just knew I wanted to share my life as an expat in England and all of the incredible adventures I am so fortunate to find myself on. Although I focus mostly on travel these days, the ‘expat’ part of this blog is an integral part of the story.

The Fly Away American is up for the Top Expat Blog in England award, and I need your help. In order to win I need all of you to check out this article I wrote over at Expat Blogs, “My Top Ten Most Awkward Moments as an American Expat in England.”

Comment underneath, using at least ten words or it won’t be counted. Whoever garners the most comments wins. If you are a new user, you will need to register in order to comment. I know how annoying that is, so thank you in advance for taking the time to ‘vote’ for The Fly Away American.

I really appreciate each and every one of you who checks in to my little corner of the world on occasion. Thank you for the comments and the tweets, and for all of the encouragement. I hope you enjoy the upcoming holidays wherever you are in the world.
